Somali community in Uganda welcomes election of Prof. Jawari.

The Somali community in Uganda has welcomed the election of the new Somali parliament speaker and his deputies who were voted into office yesterday in Mogadishu capital.

On Tuesday Somalia’s parliament elected Prof. Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari as the new speaker where the election was on live-coverage on satellite-oriented stations including Sunatimes and among others.

Secretary General of the Somali community in Uganda Ahmed Abdi congratulated Jawari for winning the position of the parliamentary speaker of the war-torn nation.

Meanwhile, residents of Galgadud region in central Somalia have also welcomed the election of the 66-year old speaker who promised to reform the parliament.
