Reports from Middle Jubba region in Somalia indicate that there has been a major standoff between al-Shabaab commanders in Salagle village.
The disagreement has reportedly occurred after senior al-Shabaab officials appointed a new administration to replace the old one. Some of the members from the old administration have vehemently refused to accept the new administration thus splitting the group into two opposing sides. Reports added that both sides have taken up arms and there are fears of a possible armed confrontation between the two parties. Ukun Abdullahi Noor, the commander of the old regime has vowed to take the matter into his own hands should the newly appointed administration tries to impose its authority on the village. |
