PRESS RELEASE
Somalia has been in a constant
instability, war and immigration for decades and over the last few years the
misery of the people of Somalia have reached the level of desperation with unprecedented level of killings, displacement and
immigration is currently taking place. Diaspora from UK and all around the
world had created a common organisation to address the main issue that is
causing the suffering the people of Somalia.
On this regard on the 12 – 13 of May the
Somali Diaspora are gathered in a conference at the capital of Sweden
Stockholm. The conference is hosted by the Somali Diaspora of Sweden with other
Somali Diaspora who came from all around world in order to discuss ways to deal
with the problems of Somalia.
The conference is held to raise the
awareness of the issues that effected not only for our people but also our
country’s future.
This press release we aim to empower
the voice of change and to represent our views on the future of Somalia. Somali
is a nation that has been in turmoil over 22 years, the current government or
the leadership does not represent nor cannot protect our nation’s interest and
cannot build a permanent government.
There are clear danger of the further
wars, chaos and instability. Therefore the Somali Diaspora have taken the first
step to establish a new form of political organisation called Somali National
Unity.
We all know as a Somali people that
we do want a new government that has the credibility and the public support to
end corruption and the foreign occupation. Somalia is a victim to the global
political and Somali personal interest that keeps failed leadership in place.
Often people argue the solution of
Somalia is in the hands of Somalis. Let us make it
clear that the only organisation that has the real solution for Somalia is the
Somali Unity Council.
Somali Unity Council,
Stockholm.
