Hooded gangs kill traditional elder in Baidoa

Armed gangs on Sunday night shot dead a traditional elder in southwest Somali city of Baidoa, reports say.

Two hooded gangs armed with pistols attacked the victim, Adow Yunis, and gunned him down at Unay neighbourhood, according to eyewitnesses who spoke to Sunatimes on condition of anonymity.

The assailants immediately fled the scene of the incident.

Ethiopian troops who arrived at the scene of the incident conducted search operations in the area. But no arrests were so far made.

The identity of the assailants and the motive behind the killing of the elder is not yet known as no group has so far claimed responsibility of the attack.
