    Somalia:Former Kenyan MPs received in Mogadishu

Mohamed Muktar Shiidiye, who was a former Kenyan parliamentarian, said the conflict in Somalia can only be curbed by the Somalis themselves.

Mogadishu (Sunatimes) The mayor of Benadir, Mohamud Ahmed Nor ‘Tarsan’ welcomed some former Kenyan MPs who paid visit to Mogadishu in a colorful ceremony.

The mayor said the MPs, Ilyas Barre Shiil and Mohamed Muktar Shidiye came to Mogadishu to hold talks with the politicians and the elders of Somalia. Expressing his gratitude, the mayor said this move shows how the Somalis everywhere show leniency to each other.

Ilyas Barre Shiil who spoke in the occasion said he is happy to be a guest of the Somali government. Ilyas revealed that he is remorseful about the fighting and the conflict in Mogadishu urging Somalis to work for peace.

Mohamed Muktar Shiidiye, who was a former Kenyan parliamentarian, said the conflict in Somalia can only be curbed by the Somalis themselves.

Amina Jama Dable, who accompanied the Kenyan MPs, said the desperate Somalis living in and outside the country need to be assisted.
