Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Incessant rain has been received in the last 24-hours in the regions of Bay, Bakool, Hiiraan and other regions in Somaliland, which coincided with the abject drought and lack of water in the country.

The rain brought happiness in the faces of the people following mass gatherings to pray for the coming of rain and asking for mercy from God.

Baidoa, the provincial headquarter of Baay province, is one of the areas that received the rain where it has affected the internally displaced persons in the town. The IDPs dwelled in makeshifts which prevented little from the direct sun and rain.

The rain came at times when there was dire need for it and the country was pillaged by constant drought added to conflicts which has been there since time immemorial. Hot conditions prevail year-round along with periodic monsoon winds and irregular rainfall in the country.
