Mogadishu (Sunatimes) The Somali president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has wholeheartedly thanked the government of the United Arab Emirates for its assistance of food and medicine to the poverty stricken Somalis.

The president said the grant which was brought by a vessel is owned by the Khalifa Bin Seyd agency. He said this clearly shows the willingness of the UAE government to help their brothers in Somalia.

The grant consisted of 3 containers of medicine and food stuff meant for the drought and poverty-hit Somalis .

The minister for foreign affairs of the TFG Mohamed Abdullahi Omaar who took part in the meeting held in Dubai said the Somali government is appreciative of the help they received from the United Arab Emirates.
