Mogadishu (Sunatimes) The Somali cabinet have denounced the consultative meeting in Nairobi organized by the United Nations, which is hoped to discuss current issues and the way forward by the TFG after its end term.

The gathering by the ministers which was headed by the Prime Minister issued a press statement in which senior advisor to the Prime Minister of Somalia, Abdirahman Omar Osman  ’Eng. Yarisow,’ talked about the aim of the meeting.

The press release revealed that the meeting in Nairobi goes against the policies of Somalia. The meeting, they said, can unleash havoc and dismantle the government’s institution.

On the other hand, the press statement said the delegates under the auspices of the Parliament Speaker have no authorization from the government and cannot represent the government.

The press release said that The TFG of Somalia is disappointed with current political engagement of UN Political office in Somalia, as it has initiated and organized the meeting in direct opposition to the views and proposals of the TFG.

The Transitional Federal government of Somalia has previously rejected its participation in the consultative meeting in Nairobi. But, a handful of government officials headed by the speaker of parliament went to participate.

Also in the meeting are the semi-autonomous administration of Puntland and Galmudug.

There seems to be a looming rift and disunion among the TFG’s officials as the term of the government nears to an end.
