Al-shabab’s district official in Bardere, Said Yussuf Mohamud, warned public transport vehicle operators against transporting passengers to the government controlled districts

Bardere (Sunatimes) Al-shabab militants in Bardere district of the Bakol region have issued new orders to the residents.

Al-shabab announced that it will restrict the movernment of the local citizens by ordering them not to travel to Luq, Elawk and Belet Hawo districts which are also part of the Gedo region and are under the control of forces supporting the government.

Al-shabab’s district official in Bardere, Said Yussuf Mohamud, warned public transport vehicle operators against transporting passengers to the government controlled districts. Mohamud threatened that residents who will attempt to travel to government held districts will be punished.

Worried residents told Bar-kulan that the travel restrictions were the worst of all orders issued by Al-shabab to them.

Other reports from the Gedo region are saying that the insurgents have placed several land mines along the roads leading into Bardere district and other parts of the region.
