Galkayo (Sunatimes) Armed gangsters have on Sunday night killed the chairman of Galkayo’s security committee. Hussein Ali Dude, who was also a peace negotiator, was killed in northern Galkayo, the capital of Mudug region.

The chairman was killed shortly after performing prayers in Ramadan mosque in the evening.

Two men armed with pistols are reported to have attacked Mr. Dude at the front gate of the mosque.

Hussein Dude, made several efforts to ensure the security of Galkayo was tight. Some of the criminals operating in the district are suspected to have carried out the attack.

Similar attacks on Puntland leaders were previously carried out in Galkayo. Some were road side bombs targeting the leaders and clan elders.
