Bosaso (Sunatimes) A fundraising office for the drought victims in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland has been opened in Bosaso by local clerics.
The office will also receive other donations such as food and clothes. The clerics urged the residents to bring whatever they can afford to the office.
The office immediately received hundreds of tones of goods and the organizers also embarke don a distribution exercise.
One of the relief collection organizers, Sheikh Fuad said the collection of donations for drought victims first started at Rowda mosque but now they have established collection points at all the mosques of Bosaso.
The ravaging drought in the Horn of Africa region has affected thousands of families and already killed several people and thousands of livestock in different parts of Somalia.
