Mogadishu (Sunatimes) A demonstration to support the operations against Al shebab by the Somali government forces and African Union peace keepers took place in Mogadishu, on Saturday.

Thousands of different members of the society have attended a well organized demonstration by the Benadir administration of the Somali government.

The mayor of the Benadir rigion, Mohamud Ahmed Nor (Tarsan) addressed the demonstrators and said that the Somali government will soon take full control of Mogadishu.  Tarsan added that the administration was aiming to deal with the security of the region and make it clean and attractive.

District commissioners of the Banadir region and troop commanders of the government forces have also attended the demonstrations.  The officers thanked the demonstrators for their support during the operations and expressed that the government forces need to be encouraged.

Officials who attended the demonstration have praised government forces and the success they recently achieved, hoping that Al-shabab will soon be defeated.
