    Somalia: Residents Happy with TFG’s Military Progress

    The force commander thanked Hamar Weyne residents for the present and promised them that he will inform the forces that they have the people’s support.

The force commander thanked Hamar Weyne residents for the present and promised them that he will inform the forces that they have the people’s support.

Mogadishu (Sunatimes) The residents of Hamar Weyne district of Mogadishu have on Tuesday held a ceremony in the Banadir region to welcome the military progress made the government forces across the country.

They said they were happy with the recent successful offensives against Al-shabab militants in Mogadishu and some other parts of the country.

The residents did not only congratulate the government forces but they gave them a gift which they sent through the TFG force commander, Gen. Adan Daga Badan. The Hamarweyne locals presented 2000 KGs of “Halwo” (a local sweet made of sugar and ghee) and 20,000 loaf of bread.

The residents also urged the TFG forces together with the African Union Peace keepers to continue with their operations against Al-shabab insurgents in the country.

The force commander thanked Hamar Weyne residents for the present and promised them that he will inform the forces that they have the people’s support.

The commissioner of hamar Weyne district, Abdullahi Sahal Ibrahim also welcomed the move and ensured the military force commander that the people are with them as they make all efforts possible to wipe out the terrorist group.
