Beledweyne (Sunatimes) Beled Weyne district, the capital of Hiran region was calm on Monday morning after a heavy fight erupted at its out skirts in the previous night.

Al-shabab insurgents and forces allied to the Transitional Federal Government clashed at Sabad Ano village, which is five KM from Belet Weyne town. Government forces have established a military base in Sabad Ano.

Four Shabab militants and one government soldier were killed in the over night fight.

TFG forces said, Al-shabab insurgents attacked their base and they successfully resisted. Colonel Isak Abdule of the TFG forces told Bar-kulan that they were planning to attack Belet Weyne very soon.

The government forces are planning to wipe out Al-shabab militants from the country. The militants still control some parts of South and central Somalia.
