Garowe (Sunatimes) Members of Puntland parliament, elders and clerics from the region have visited a mental health facility in Garowe, the capital of Puntland.
Forty patients between the ages of 18-50 are receiving treated in the facility.
Among the leaders who visited the mental hospital, known as “Nasrullah’’ was Suldan Said Mohamed Garase.
Nasrullah mental health camp is managed by Hawo Qeylo Weyn. Qeylo Weyn briefed the leaders about the situation of the patients and the health center in general.
Qeylo Weyn said some of the patients in the camp were doing well. However, she complained that food and other essential needs were sometimes very scarce in NasruLLAH camp.
One of the MPS said Puntland administration has established a separate department to cater for people who are in need of special care. MP Muse also said mentally sick people need special treatment and the government will do more to help those in the camp.
