Mogadishu (Sunatimes) An explosion that occurred in Lanta Buro village in the Lower Shabele region killed five Al-shabab fighters. One of the five who died is reported to be a foreign fighter.

The fighters were in a vehicle that was carrying explosions.

There are no reliable reports indicating the cause of the explosion. However, some witnesses say the explosion occurred with in the car while others observed that a land mine bomb that was placed in the road caused the blast.

Al-shabab insurgents immediately arrived at the area and sealed it off from the residents.

Last week, several other Al-shabab militants were killed in an explosion that was caused by a land mine they were placing in a bridge at the out skirts of Belet Weyn district of the Hiran region.
