Gedo (Sunatimes) Government officials held a meeting with local elders in Elwak district of the Gedo region.
The officers discussed with the elders on how to address various issues concerning the district. The government embarked on different official duties a few days after it seized parts of the Gedo region from Al-shabab militants.
The government said it was planning to reintroduce public service facilities in the district.
Mohamed Abdi Kalil who is one of the government officers in Luq district said government officials have agreed with the elders to put in place an a administration for the district.
One of the local elders who met the government officials, Abdikani Nur Ali welcomed the move to establish a district administration for the district.
Luq district was previously controlled by Al-shabab militants. The group withdrew its fighters recently when government and pro-government militia of Ahlu-suna seized the border district of Belet Hawo from Al-shabab.

Somalia:Government Officials Meet Elders in Luq
One of the local elders who met the government officials, Abdikani Nur Ali welcomed the move to establish a district administration for the district
