Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Somali police officers who completed their training in Kenya’s Manyani Camp are returning to Mogadishu today.
The officers were on Tuesday morning traveling from the Jommo Kenyatta airport in Nairobi and were scheduled to arrive at Mogadishu’s Adan Ade International Air port shortly before midday.
Ahmed Salah Islaweyn, the commander of the one hundred trained force told Bar-kulan on the phone that the force will participate in the security operations going on in the country. He said the officers will be deployed to different stations.
The police officers went through a three month training, which was sponsored by the Italian government. The training was offered by African Union officials.
The officers were taught law, ethics, and public relations among other skills concerning their duties.
Last week close to three hundred other officers who completed their training in Kneya went back to their duty stations in Somalia.
