Some residents of Belet Weyne have already started fleeing the town. Businesses and schools remain closed

Beletweyne (Sunatimes) Tension is high in Belet Weyne district, the capital of the Hiran region. Government forces in Sabad Ano village which is 5KM to Belet Weyne are reported to be preparing to attack Al-shabab insurgents in Belet Weyne.

Some of Al-shabab leaders in Belet Weyne are reported to have already fled the town.

However, Al-shabab insurgents are also preparing themselves within the town. Some reports say, government forces will in the next few hours arrive at Belet Weyne.

Some residents of Belet Weyne have already started fleeing the town. Businesses and schools remain closed.

The TFG has been attacking Al-shabab militants in different parts of the central regions. The operations against the insurgents by the TFG forces have been successful so far as the TFG seized two districts in the Gedo region from Al-shabab.
