Al-shabab militants did not give any reason for abducting the journalist.

Kismayo (Sunatimes) An online journalist working in Kismayo was on Saturday morning kidnapped by Al-shabab militants.

Abdikadir Mohamed Agmdige who is the head of Qaranimo online network in Kismayo, the capital of the Lower Juba region was abducted from his home by Shabab militants with masked faces.

Al-shabab militants did not give any reason for abducting the journalist.

The family of journalist Abdikadir told radio Bar-kulan that they were searching for him. They demanded Al-shabab to release the journalist quickly with out conditions.

Al-shabab militants in Kismayo have started targeting the few remaining journalists. Onlie journalist are mostly targeted as the militia accuse them for posing stories contrary to Al-shabab’s interest.

The militant group killed more than five journalists in the past few years. Several others fled the town.
