Mogadishu (Sunatimes) The commissioner of the Gedo region fro the Somali Transitional Federal Government, Mohamed Abdi Kalil, has accused Al-shabab militants in Beled Hawo district of burning residential houses.
The commissioner said Al-shabab wants to displace people. Some of the residents whose houses were torched have already started reconstructing them.
Thousands of people have fled the border town of Beled Hawo since the Transitional Federal Government forces and Al-shabab insurgents clashed last week.
Most of them have fled to the Kenyan botder district of Mandera.
