Galgadud(Sunatimes) Militias of Ahlu-sunna Waljama group have carried out security operations in Harale district of the Galgadud region after clan based conflicts occurred in the area.

The operations were carried out at Hulkujir and Lander villages at the periphery of Harale district. Two people died when a local clan militia attacked members of another clan.

The commander of Ahlu-sunna fighters in the Galgadud region, Sheikh Mohamed Artan Shuriye said his fighters have arrested some people who are suspected to have killed the two persons. Artan also promised that a proper investigation will be carried out and all those who perpetuated the killings will be arrested and taken to court.

Elders who were also accompanying the Ahlu-sunna militias have started reconciliation efforts between the two clans that were involved in the conflict.

Some parts of the Galgadud region that are controlled by Ahlu-sunna militias are among the areas that can be described as those relatively calm in South and Central Somalia.
