PM Farmajo urged the elders to involve themselves in all matters of national interest and help the government provide better service

Mogadishu (Sunatimes) The Prime Minister of Somali Transitional Federal Government, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, has on Monday received some Somali elders in his office.

The elders and the PM discussed the drought situation and the transitional period of the government among other national matters. The premier has said the government will consult cultural Somali elders and professionals to ensure suitable decisions are made.

PM Farmajo urged the elders to involve themselves in all matters of national interest and help the government provide better service.

On their side, the elders promised the premier that they will help the TFG secure the country from Al-shabab militia group and maintain law and order. They also urged the citizens to observe peace in the country.

The Somali cultural elders have recently returned from Djibouti where they have attended a meeting to discuss how the current devastating situation of the country could be changed. The meeting was organized by the United Nations Political Office for Somalia (UNPOS).
