Mogadishu (Sunatimes) The president of Somali Transitional Federal Government, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has on Sunday visited some of the positions that were recently seized by the TFG and Africa Union Forces from Al-shabab militants.

The president was accompanied by Somali military commander in chief, Gen. Dagabadan, Col. Agey among other military officers.

The president also met with AMISOM military officers who were also guarding the newly seized areas from Al-shabab insurgents. The president thanked AMISOM peace keepers for their efforts as he urged the government forces to continue with the same spirit.

The government forces were happy with the president’s visit.

TFG forces together with AMISOM have defeated Al-shabab insurgents ina recent offensive that was launched against the militia group.
