Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Al-shabab insurgents and pro –government Ahlu-sunna militias have on Wednesday clashed in Beled Hawo district of the Gedo region.
Gedo (Sunatimes) Ahlu-sunna militias have attacked several bases of Shabab insurgents located at the out skirts of Beled Hawao. The fighting has intensified at mid morning and spread towards the town.
Residents have predicted the fighting earlier by fleeing their homestead late Tuesday when Ahlu-sunna militias arrived at some villages near Beled Hawo ready to launch an attack against Al-shabab insurgents who control some parts of the Gedo region.
There are no casualties reported so far as the fighting went on. Areas where the clash took place could not be accessed; therefore the fighters currently controlling the border town of Beled Hawo could not be established.
Al-shabab insurgents have recently have been attacked by both Ahlu-sunna and Transitional federal Government forces in different regions of Somalia. TFG and African Union forces launched an attack in which they seized some strategic positions in Mogadishu from Al-shabab.

Al-shabab insurgents have recently have been attacked by both Ahlu-sunna and Transitional federal Government forces
