San'a (Sunatimes) Somali refugees living in Yemen’s seaport city of Aden were accused of participating in the recent anti-government protests.
The accusations have led to restrictions that were imposed on the refugees. Lawyer Abdirahman Banna, who also lives in the city has confirmed to radio Bar-kulan that Somali refugees are currently not allowed to move within Aden city or travel out of it.
Most of the Somali people in Aden city live in Basaatin neighborhood and some of them now live in fear after the restrictions were imposed.
Thousands of Somalis from Europe, America and Somalia are currently living with their families in Aden city. Those who came from Europe and America have already started leaving Yemen.
Police in Yemen are accusing the Somali population in Aden city for participating in the recent anti-government protests meant to oust the regime of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
The demonstrations have worsened the already fragile security situation in the main cities of Yemen.
