NAIROBI (Sunatimes)- Following aid and abet from Somali embassy in Kenya, the war displaced Somalis living in Kenya say they are impressed with the helpful development strides so far made by the Somali ambassador to Kenya after he kindly spent his time with Somali refugees in Kenya as he donated to them for food, money and clothing donations.

Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo) has made great progress with donor aids which Somalis say is one of the most rewarding activities, saying that their image in Kenya changed when became the ambassador of Somalia to Kenya.

Fatima Abdisalam, a mother of fine living in Iffo refugee camp in Kenya has described Mr. But as a ‘decent and committed leader‘, saying that he is always willing to come to them for help.

She says that he had always shown interest in helping the Somalis arrested in Kenyan jails, harassed by the Kenyan police and the war-displaced refugees overcrowded in Kenyan camps.

Looking around Kenyan camps, Somalis living there have jointly noted that the envoy expressed determination to maintain and strengthen that relationship by bringing more aid to the Somalis.

“ Everyone will actually remember Mr. Nur for his help to us, my Allah bless him” Sacdiyo Geddi, another refugee in Dhagahley camp told group of reporters visited the camps.

She acknowledged that their biggest challenge now as a Somalis to change the perception of Somali people living in Kenya don’t receive aid from Somali government.

Before he become the Somali envoy to Kenya. Somali refugees say they have suffered for too long and that the ambassador started to turn things around in a positive light.

The East African country has hosted thousands of Somalis fleeing from the abuses by Islamist militants in Somalia, as the Somalis have established one of the country’s biggest markets, Eastleigh bazaar that puts on sale variety of goods.
