SRINAGAR, (INDIA), Jan 3: The guerrilla outfits fighting against the Indian rule in Kashmir have denied their involvement into killing two sisters in Sopore area of North Kashmir on Monday.

Besides the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) the United Jihad Council (UJC), a conglomerate of guerrilla outfits bashed in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan Administered  Kashmir have also condemned attack.

LeT spokesman Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi has issued a statement in which he has said that his group condemns the killings of two sisters of Sopore and termed the incident as the “handiwork of government agencies.”

The two sisters, Kulsooma and Yasmin, were killed Monday evening after they were forced out of their homes at gunpoint in Muslim Peer locality of Sopore town. Police said the two sisters had been killed by LeT and two of the guerrillas involved in the killings of two sisters had already been identified.

UJC, a conglomerate of guerrilla groups based in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan administered Kashmir, has also denied any guerrilla hand in the killings and demanded an impartial probe.

In a faxed statement to a local news gathering agency of Kashmir, the spokesperson of the UJC, Syed Sadakat Hussain, quoting UJC chief Syed Salah-ud-Din as saying the killing of two sisters in Sopore is a barbaric act. “Such incidents are against the teachings of Islam and no militant organization can indulge in such act. It is handiwork of Indian agencies who want to create wedge between people and mujahideen. But such dirty tactics won’t work,” UJC chief has been quoted as saying.

Syed Salah-ud-Din has also demanded impartial probe into the killings, “Those who are involved in the murder should be given an exemplary punishment.”

Guerrilla outfit Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen has also condemned the killings. In a faxed statement, the outfit spokesman, Jameel Ahmad said, “The killings are handiwork of Indian intelligence agencies. We condemn this barbaric act.”

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had dared separatists on the twin murders in a post on Twitter, saying it was a shame that the separatists did not have the cheek to condemn such incidents.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) , has also condemned killings of two Sopore sisters. Terming killing as an act of cowardice, the BJP has asked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of Jammu Kashmir to book the culprits at the earliest without waiting for any guerrilla group to own up the responsibility.

Party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman told reporters that the chief minister should realize from the incident as to how appeasement is making the separatists bold to pose daring challenge to the administration. It is time that the chief minister asserts himself and stops being kind to them.
