Kenya's war against terrorism is winning!

MOMBASA (Sunatimes)-Police in South Igembe Constituency [central Kenya, formerly in Eastern Province] have seized communication equipment which they suspect were being used by direhard terrorists.

Police sources say they had disrupted what they termed a terror network in the district, which is on the main road leading to Somalia.

The police officers found the equipment after breaking into some rented houses in Maua town. The police were led by Igembe South District Commissioner, David Kipkemei, found satellite communication equipment in three rented houses which had Somalis suspected to have ties with terror groups.

Police sources say the equipment could be used to jam or monitor police communication.

“These machines we have found today are very powerful machines which may be having some links with terrorists” Kipkeme says.

Kipkemei said the region had many foreigners who had not been formally registered in the country and are using the opportunity to disrupt the peace. Many suspects are of Somali origin because the main road in the district leads to Somalia [as heard].

The district commissioner said a bomb detonator which was destined for Nairobi, was last year found in the district. He asked landlords to be vigilant and inform police about suspicious looking neighbours or sophisticated equipment.

[Video of satellite equipment seized by police appear to be C-Band parabolic dishes and satellite receivers used to receive satellite TV. Orientation of two dishes mounted on roof of a building appear to be tuned to receive Arabsat and Thaicom satellites which carry Somali TV broadcasts as seen in various Somali homes in Nairobi].
