San diego (Sunatimes) Somali man with double foreign nationalities charged for supporting Somalia’s Al-Shabab terrorist group

Abdi Aziz Hogolof a Somali national living in US, who holds Dutch and American passports, has been charged with supporting "a deadly pipeline" routing money from the U.S. to the terrorist group al-Shabab in Somalia.

Hogolof in his early 40s  from Sa’ad of Habargidir sub-clan of the main Hawiye clan left Somalia in 1988 to Germany. He lived in bonn, a city in the northern part of the country.

He was living there for some time with his sister, who was working at the Somalia’s Embassy in Germany.

Hogolof’s father is a well-known and respected traditional peace-activist in Mudug region central Somalia, specially a village known as Do’ol.

Hogolof left his family late 1980s from that village and lived in Galka’yo for some time

In 1991 he travelled to Netherlands where he asked asylum. Dutch police and the asylum department took him to Udanhout camp in Brabant region.

According to sources close to the investigation of his case he lived in the camp with his late mother.

The sources described him as a man ridden by the stimulant narcotic leaves known as Khat, which he was continuously chewing almost daily while he was in Netherlands

He changed his addresses several times by making successive moves from house to different houses. One of his addresses was in Tilburg city, where he married to a Somali woman.

Mr. Hogolof has dropped off from the normal life because of his recklessness. Around 1999 he travelled to the USA, where he again asked for another asylum.

He lived in Minnesota for some time and now he lives in San diego and had frequently travelled to southern Somalia.

The western laws do not allow for a person to have more than duel nationalities. Your original nationality and the one given to the person by the country he lived as immigrant for more than five years

Hogolof has American and Dutch nationalities, an Asylee Document from Germany along with his original Somali passport

Intelligence officials have questioned why Hogolof uses and renews his Dutch passport.

Details were not given yet on whether the suspect has all these dements with the same name.

However, His charges of supporting terrorists and holding more than two nationalities are not easy.

Not only this man but also other cases reported from regions in The USA reflect "a very disturbing trend" of increasing support for terrorism,

Many Somalis in abroad were credited for helping Alshabab with financial support and recruiting young fighters

Most of the people so far charged are U.S. citizens. Some supported the terrorist organization from the United States and others traveled to Somalia to join up with al-Shabab.
