Galmudug authority that controls southern Galkaiyo claimed the companies have refused to pay a registration fee of up to $10,000 each.

Galkacyo (Sunatimes) Some of the money transfer companies that operate in Southern Galkaiyo have been closed today. The local money transfer companies and some telecommunication cooperates have been denied operation by Galmudug authority.

Galmudug authority that controls southern Galkaiyo claimed the companies have refused to pay a registration fee of up to $10,000 each.

Galmudug’s police commissioner Mohamed Nur Ali warned that the authority will take similar action against companies that will dare not to cooperate in paying fess and charges.

Some of the agents of the closed companies could not give any comment on the issue. They said it is the management of their companies that will respond to the actions of Galmudug administration.

Galmudug administration claims that they use revenues they collect from local business companies in development projects and to maintain security in the area under their control.
