MOGADISHU (Sunatimes) Roadside bomb has killed 6 people including government soldiers in Somalia capital Mogadishu on Monday, witnesses told Sunatimes.
The explosion which
carried out by the militant rebel group of Al-Shabaab hit government soldiers
who were involving in security mission conducted on the main Industry Road in
west of Mogadishu.
The latest
attack came day after Hezbul Islam group was confirmed to have joined with the
most radical group of Al-Shabaab following long standing political and military
conflict between the two oppositions.
The Hezbul Islam’s
unification with the Al-Qaeda inspired group Al-Shabaab seems to be mounting more
anxiety on the Somalia government which control very few land in the capital.
According to the
local residents, 4 of the government soldiers died on the spot while 6 others
wounded. Two civilians were reported to have died in that attack.
Some reports suggest
the explosion was suicide attack used for a car loaded with explosives.
After the deadly
attack, the soldiers sealed off the area and began investigation but no one was
arrested for the attack.
For the ten
months, the rebel insurgents have been constantly attacking the military bases
of the government and African Union troops on the main Industry Road.
