Khadar B. Sulub Geelle, also known online as Hussein Ogaadeen Kibray, is a former member of Ethiopia's notorious Liyu Police in the Somali Regional State, an armed force accused of widespread human rights abuses including rape, torture, and false imprisonment of civilians suspected of supporting the ONLF (Ogaden National Liberation Front).
After the fall of President Abdi Mohamud Omar, Khadar fled Ethiopia, reportedly using irregular migration routes to reach Germany, where he obtained residency. Later, he migrated to the United States, where he was issued an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) under the asylum category C08 (pending decision). His EAD, which is not valid for U.S. re-entry, expires on March 10, 2025.
TikTok Fame and Abuse Allegations
Under the alias Hussein Kibray, he became a TikTok personality with over 200,000 followers. But behind the fame, he has been accused of:
•Sexually harassing Somali women on TikTok, demanding gifts under threat of public shaming.
•Blackmailing female users with doctored images, including threats to publish photoshopped nude pictures.
•Cyberbullying prominent Somali figures, including religious leader Sheikh Mustafe Harun, whom he falsely labeled as homosexual.
One of his victims, a young woman named Zara, was featured in a BBC World Service investigation titled:
"Why I spent my university fees on Somali TikTok battles”

Zara explained that Hussein Kibray threatened to release manipulated intimate photos if she didn’t send TikTok gifts. She sent all her university tuition money to appease him. After the BBC inquired, TikTok confirmed that his accounts had been permanently banned for violating policies on sexual and physical abuse.
TikTok spokesperson:
"We prioritise the safety of our community... We have banned the account in question.”
Investigative Findings
According to Dahir Alasow, a Somali-Dutch journalist and three-time award-winning investigative reporter:
•Khadar listed Somalia as his country of birth on U.S. immigration documents, although he was born in Godey, Ethiopia – a potential fraudulent claim.
•He has made substantial income through TikTok by manipulating vulnerable women.
•He has a wife and child in Addis Ababa, Khadra Dhool, who reported to the Social Media Civil Court that Khadar abandoned her and their son, Abdimalik Hussein.
•In a public TikTok live, he denounced his Ethiopian Somali identity, claiming his mother is Oromo and not Somali – despite using the "Ogaadeen" name online to build a fanbase.
Legal Uncertainty and Deportation
With his EAD nearing expiration in March 2025 and increasing complaints of fraud, bullying, and abuse, Khadar may face immigration scrutiny or deportation. However, it's unclear whether he would be returned to Germany, Ethiopia, or another jurisdiction, given the conflicting data on his asylum application.
Conclusion
The case of Khadar B. Sulub Geelle is a disturbing example of how digital platforms can be exploited by individuals with abusive pasts, hiding behind false identities while targeting vulnerable users. The calls for accountability continue, with Somali women and activists urging U.S. authorities to investigate, revoke his protection, and pursue legal action.
