MOGADISHU (Sunatimes) Somalia’s government troops confiscated on Friday a car carrying weapon supply to the Al-Qaeda linked rebel groups, official said.
A government military officer told the local media the troops stationing in Ex-control’s check point on the way to Afgoie district, 30 km away intercepted the car full of ammunition and explosive devices.
“The car now is our hand and after investigation we knew that it was heading to the strong holds of the rebel insurgents.” One of the army officers in condition of anonymity said. The officer said the troops at the checkpoint have long been trying to tighten the security of all in and out of the capital.
