MOGADISHU (Sunatimes) Somalia’s president Sharif Sheik Ahmed on Tuesday called on the military forces to liberate the country from the occupation of what he called ‘foreign perpetrators ’ – as the government banned some international aid agencies from operating in the areas under control.

Speaking at the ceremony of opening new army base in the capital, Mr. Ahmed said the military forces should be committed in saving country from the risk of terrorists.

“The country is under attack by foreign invaders who are culprits in their origin countries. Misfortunately they get help from people who have no nationalism.”  Ahmed said.

The president pledged that troops will receive their rights including their monthly salaries but the army is required to perform their national duties of defending the country from the enemy.

The United Nations Children’s Fund, Unicef, and the International Committee of the Red Cross, were ordered to stop working in the areas ruled by the government after they failed to attend a scheduled meeting.

But spokesman for ICRC said they receive yet no official statement from the Somalia government side concerning for their aid mission.
