MOGADISHU (Sunatimes)  Fighting has on Sunday renewed in the war-devastated areas of north and east in the Somalia capital Mogadishu between the government troops backed by the African Union troops and militias loyal to the Al-Qaeda linked group of Al-Shabaab.

The latest confrontations took place in Hodan district near the heavily guarded presidential headquarter where the rivals exchange artillery weapons.

According to the medical sources, 10 people have been killed and dozens more wounded.

This came day after the country’s new Prime Minister Mohamed Abdulahi Farmajo visited the frontlines of the government and African troops to give them moral spirit of strengthening their efforts of regaining more lands.

It is for the first time that the American Somali diplomat Farmajo reached the war-zone areas since he was brought to the office.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Farmajo said his government will continue the war against what he called the peace-killers (rebel groups) until ensuring the control of whole the capital.

But these remarks were not new to the ears of the Somalis as every new arrival government official simply says words without further deeds.
