The Somali Journalists Association Network expresses grave concerns
about the condition of Journalist Bille Mohammed Ali who was kidnapped
by Al shabaab fighters on Saturday morning, last month as he was in
was at his office in Mogadishu , Somalia ’s Capital in particular in the
Al shabaab areas, according to Bille's workmates of this website
“We are just noting and deeply worried for the safety of our employees
including the Director as well as Webmaster of our website
http://gobolada.com, Bille Mohamed Ali, who were all kidnapped by
fighters from Al shabaab group at November 27 on Saturday as the
kidnappers had looted completely all things at our office, and other
materials including, more than two computers, documents and so on”,
said an online statement posted on gobolada.com, at this page,
SOJANET has already learned and alarmed that many reporters and media
colleagues were scared to report in the Al shabaab and Al Hisbul-Islam
areas, because insurgents are dangerous to foreign and native
journalists and not much news escapes from there.
“It is sad that journalists are still risking their lives by facing
many times dangerous for reporting this conflict, but SOJANET
completely condemns this brutal and latest captivity of journalist
Bille Mohamed Ali and other unconfirmed number of employees of
http://gobolada.com, and we are calling insurgents or anyone else
involving this latest accident to release the journalist and the other
employees without preconditions”. We however call warring sides or
anyone else to threaten and kill the journalists to stop such bad
deeds”, said SOJANET Secretary General Mohamed Odowa.
SOJANet) - is an independent non-profit Network and nongovernmental
organization, but only serves and dedicated for Somali journalists as
well as for the press freedom.
