Mogadishu (Sunatimes) A parliamentary session that was scheduled today in Mogadishu’s Golaha Shacabka building was postponed again. Members of parliament were today expected to vote for the approval or disapproval of the newly appointed Prime Minister.
Some MPs who were contacted by radio Bar-kulan through the telephone could only explain that today’s session was postponed due to technical hitches.
The MPs were today expected to approve PM Mohamed Farmoje who was recently appointed by President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
The speaker of the parliament Sharif Hasan Sheikh Adan and the president have disagreed on the manner in which the parliamentary vote will be carried out in parliament.
The Supreme Court yesterday ruled that vote be carried out openly citing different sections of the 1960s constitution. The president has earlier written to the court to give its verdict on the issue that caused the dispute.
