Bomb blast at Somalia stadium kills 5 football fans

At least five people were killed and eight more were injured after bomb exploded at a packed football stadium in southern Somalia on Thursday evening, ABC News reported.

Witnesses said the bomb had been buried in the sandy stadium and went off during the local-level match. Police said it appeared to have been detonated by remote control.

The Somalia-based, al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab extremist group immediately claimed responsibility for the explosion in the port town of Barawe. Source: ABC News
