Galkacyo (Sunatimes) Officials of Galmudug state have spoken today for the first time on the recent attacks in Galkayo. Armed gangsters have last week attacked Galkayo’s local authority offices and killed two people.

Galmudug’s information minister, Abshir Mohamed Adan who addressed the press on Sunday morning said that the attackers are believed to be among the citizens of Galmudug state.

The minister also said that they were holding consultations with security officials of Puntland as they continue with their investigations.

Galmudug’s minister for information Abshir Mohamed also said that they were investigating a number of other violence activities that occurred in Puntland where some Galmudug citizens are suspected to be involved.

Puntland and Galmudug administrations have agreed to work together on security matters of the two regions.
