Kismayo (Sunatimes) Al-shabab militias in Kismayo have ordered laborers working at the local sea port to attend a militia training they will soon start to offer in that town.
Shabab’s most senior official in Kismayo Hasan Yakub Ali today visited the port and made the announcement while addressing the laborers inside the port.
Yakub said that the laborers should be able to defend the port if attacked. He also threatened that those who will fail to participate in the training will not be allowed to work in the port.
Some of the laborers told the media that they were not prepared for any militia training and would instead opt to stop working at the port. Some of them are also worried to be involved in any clashes.
Majority of the working force in Kismayo are working as laborers in the local sea port. Al-shabab militias have taken over the control of the port in 2008.
