MOGADISHU (Sunatimes) Somalia’s new appointed prime minister who was expecting to form his cabinet has today failed to gain the vote of confidence after the parliament session ended in confusion with the presence of president Sharif Sheik Ahmed, reports told Sunatimes.

The members of the Somalia parliament disagreed over whether the voting could be hand raising or in hiding.

Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed told the MPs that his government will come up with new policy of improving the current situation. “I am requesting the lawmakers to adopt my cabinet to start our duty ahead.” he said.

Speaking about his security agenda, Mr. Mohamed called on the rebel groups for peaceful talks. “If the opposition rejects our offer then the option could be fighting and will recapture the country.” he added.

President Sharif Sheik Ahmed who spoke at the parliament house said he asking for the MPs to approve the new government.

Meanwhile, the new prime minister denied the media reports saying that he had ignored to form his cabinet with formula of 4.5 power sharing system. He said that was misinterpreted.

There is little hope on what the prime minister can change the image of the corrupted government institutions in Somalia.
