Kismayo (Sunatimes) Al-shabab senior financial officer in the Juba regions is reported to be missing. Senior Al-shabab officials in Kismayo have today announced that their financial administrator in the Juba regions Ali Bashir Abdinur has escaped from them.

Mr. Abdinur is said to have also stolen more than $70, 000 in cash. The money is believed to be part of what has been collected by Al-shabab militias in the Juba region from local traders.

Malim Muhumed who is Al-shabab’s prosecutor in Kismayo told reporters that the missing money was the main revenue of Al-shabab this month.

Al-shabab militias have arrested three militia guards of the missing officer who are suspected to have planned his escape.

This comes at a time when Al-shabab militias are in difficult financial situation. The militias have recently started collecting money from the residents by force to finance their activities.
