Somalia refugee Dadab (Sunatimes) Kenyan police officers have arrested more than fifty Somali refugees near Liboi division at the Kenya- Somali border in the North eastern province.

The refugees who are mainly women and children were rounded up in police vehicles on Saturday and were later taken to Dadab police station.

The spokesman of UNHCR in Kneya has confirmed to radio Bar-kulan the arrests made by Kenyan security officials along the border. The spokesman also said that the UNHCR representatives were discussing the matter with the security officials.

However, Kenyan authorities are preparing to arraign in court all the refugees they have arrested on Saturday for illegally staying in the country.

This is not the first time when Kenyan security officials have arrested Somali refugees along the border and around the Dadab refugee camp which hosts more than two hundred thousand Somali refugees.
