Yemen (Sunatimes) Yemen’s security officials have said that thirty nine Somali immigrants arrived in Yemen. The immigrants were in two separate boats that docked in the Tais and Hadramout regions.
Four women are said to be among the human traffickers, who have illegally brought the Somalis to the coast of Yemen.
Yemen’s security officials have reported that some of the immigrants are not in good health. They later handed the immigrants over to UNHCR officials.
The immigrants will now be taken to the Meyfa’a camp where they will stay for a while before they are re-settled in one of the refugee camps in Yemen.
Yemen’s security officials in the Shabwa province have reported that they have handed over more than one hundred and seventy two immigrants, mostly Somalis, to the UNHCR in the last two days.
It seems as though Somali refugees are up to illegal and dangerous travels again after the rough sea season, which restricted traffic, ended earlier last month. Human traffickers bundle hundreds of these desperate refugees in unsafe boats to travel to Yemen.
