Workers at the Bosaso sea port have already started off loading the supplies. The ship is carrying aid comprised of maize, beans, cocking oil and other food material.
Dozens of vehicles, which are ready to carry the relief food to the interior Southern and Central parts of Somali, have already lined up along the road that leads to the port.
The ship has docked at a time when Bosaso’s internally displaced persons from Southern Somalia have been complaining of food shortages in their camps.
Hundreds of thousands of other IDPs have also camped in central and Southern Somalia waiting for humanitarian assistance. However, the WFP has been banned from operating in some of these parts by Al-shabab militia, which controls most of the South.
