Mr. Tahir put forwarded two questions before the attendants.
Ali Yahye, one of the Somali-Dutch community members, who spoke at the meeting, welcomed such gathering as positive step towards the communication and the conversation among Somalis to discuss their interests and future prospects.
"But Somalis here in the Netherlands should be marked with what they are not to be or simply attributed with terrorism. We have to be very careful when it came the issue of terrorism.” Yahye said. "Terrorism is nowadays became a thorn for the whole world.”
Dahir Alasow, the president of Solda Safety Network and editor of Waagacusub website, who was among the journalists participating the meeting, said anyone — suspected to be leaning on terrorism — should be reported to the nearby police station."But if the person is changed, he must be warned against the evil deeds.”
"As we are now whispering against the terrorists, they themselves are alert on us.” Alasow said. "The global war on terror began in 2002 and now continues to hunt down the terror network.”
"I suggest that Somalis should not be hesitant to collaborate with the Dutch security services and inform them on anyone suspected to be involving in terror acts. If you report the police about insecurity act you are being recognised as hero who saved many lives.” Alasow said telling Somalis not to see the person who works with the security and intelligence services as stranger but should be seen as person doing his/ her right duty.
It was the second gathering of series meetings aimed to fight against the radicalization on the Somali youth in the Netherlands. The third phase of meeting will be held on October 2015.
