Baidao (Sunatimes) Al-shabab’s most senior official in the Bay and Bakol regions Mahat Omar Abdikarim has today ordered parents in those regions to allow their children be recruited to join the militia.

Mr. Mahat issued the order while speaking in one of the programs aired by the militia’s Baidao based radio station. Mr. Mahat said that if the parents refused their children be recruited by his militia, they will carry out an operation that will force the youth to join them.

The new order by Al-shabab is worrying most of the parents in the Bay and Bakol regions who would not wish their children to join the on going conflict in Somalia.

Al-shabab is said to be making military preparations to fight the Transitional Federal Government forces and African Union Peacekeepers.

Al-shabab may soon deploy more militias in the Somali capital. The new militias are expected to be transported from the Bay, Bakol and Juba regions.
