The latest report from hotel Muna also indicates that apart from the 11 MPs there are twenty seven other people who have been killed in the suicidal raid.
Among the dead are two government officials, five soldiers of the Transitional Federal Government and twenty one civilians.
The attack in Muna hotel which hosts a number of Somali MPs took place when Shabab gunmen who were disguised as government soldiers opened fire as one of them blew himself up inside the hotel. The bodies of the two suicide attackers are still lying within the building.
The number of those who have been injured is not yet confirmed but there are reports indicate that over forty people who were injured and taken to various hospitals in Mogadishu for treatment.
President Sheriff Sheikh Ahmed has address the nation on the tragedy. He condemned the attack and its perpetuators.
Elsewhere, the information minister for the Transitional Federal Government Eng. Yarisow has also condemned the attack and expressed his concern over the on going fighting in the capital. Eng. Yarisow said that it was unfortunate because the fighting is going on during the holy month of Ramadan.
Heavy fighting between the TFG forces and the fighters of Al-shabab militia is going on for the second day. The fighting has started on Monday when Al-shabab’s spokesman Ali Mohamed Rage announced a massive war against the TFG and AMISOM forces.
