    Somalia: Al-Shabaab's Leader Was Shot by His Body Guards

    Godane's wife, Muna Abdirahman, that lives in Sharjah, The United Arab Emirates told her relatives that she had received phone calls from people saying that her husband was killed.

Godane's wife, Muna Abdirahman, that lives in Sharjah, The United Arab Emirates told her relatives that she had received phone calls from people saying that her husband was killed.

Waagacusub.net - Al-Shabaab leader, Ahmed Abdi Godane's body guards opened fire on eachother at theoutskirtsof port townof Barawe in the southeastern Lower Shabbelle region of Somalia on Sunday, following after Godane executed his long time inmate,Bashir Liqaye.

Bashir Liqaye was an ex-Shabaab official and three Shabaab fighters from his Duduble sub-clan of Hawiye that angered by Liqaye's death took revenge on Godane that shot him seven times at close range.

It is not cleared yet whether Godane is dead or alive but a Shabaab official, Khalif Adale, confirmed to Waagacusub media that he was severely wounded by what he called "men driven by clan chauvinism of Godane's body guards ,"and was taken to Barawehospital by the Amniyaat, the group's intelligence andassassination unit,that came after almost half an hour of intense fighting," the Shaabab Official said,decliningto give details of whether Ahmed Abdi Godane was died or not and if not, how his condition is.

Godane's wife, Muna Abdirahman, that lives in Sharjah, The United Arab Emirates told her relatives that she had received phone calls from people saying that her husband was killed.

But Mrs. Godane denied that her husband was killed by his body guards , adding that she was told on phone by young men, that he was killed by air raid .

However, Godane was shot and severely wounded and then taken to hospital in Barawe according to eyewitnesses.
